Sariling sikap! Helen Tan donates protective gear for Quezon frontliners
Quezon Rep. Helen Tan has no qualms dipping into her own pocket to provide personal protective equipment (PPEs) to the province’s frontliners.
Tan recently donated 1,500 pieces of N95 masks to the Quezon Medical Center. It was received by representatives who thanked the lawmaker for her gesture through a sign.
In a Facebook post, Tan, a doctor, said she’s saddented by news that many healthcare workers in Quezon and all over the Philippines are contracting COVID-19.
“Sa abot ng aking makakaya, nagsisikap po ang inyong lingkod makabili ng PPEs continuously for our health workers,” she said.
Data from the Department of Health shows one out of five COVID-19 patients is a frontliner, with a total of 1,619 health workers infected as of April 30.
