Who’s priority? Jonvic Remulla bares details of COVID-19 mass testing in Cavite
Persons showing symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and frontliners will be prioritized as Cavite starts mass testing for the virus, Governor Jonvic Remulla said.
In a Facebook post, Remulla shared who will be tested first for COVID-19 to make the process more efficient and effective.
He said persons under investigation (PUIs) for COVID-19 will be tested first. If their results turn positive, their relatives will be tested for the virus as well.
Remulla said it is also important that medical frontliners are tested for COVID-19. However, he clarified that more people will be tested in the coming days once those in the priority list are finished.
“Huwag po kayo mag-alala. Nauna lang po sila dahil kung sila ay positive ay ang pag-kalat ng Covid ay mas mabilis. Ang mga susunod na sektor ay abangan sa aking post para malaman ang schedule nila,” Remulla said.
Second in line for testing are food handlers at wet markets, employees of grocery stores, pawn shops and drug stores, and policemen.
The governor, however, clarified that the cost of testing employees of grocery stores, pawn shops and drug stores will be shouldered by the owner, while policemen and wet market food handlers will be tested for free.
