Para ‘di na lalayo sa pamamalengke: Jenny Barzaga orders each barangay to put up makeshift market
Dasmariñas, Cavite Mayor has ordered barangay captains and officials of subdivisions in the city to put up makeshift markets or talipapas for the convenience of marketgoers amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
Barzaga said the existence of makeshift markets will make it easier for residents to buy basic goods and avoid crowding at other markets in Dasmariñas.
The mayor said the makeshift markets are limited to selling wet goods like meat, fish, fruits and vegetables. They should also have weighing scales.
“Ang mga talipapa ay magsisilbi lamang na wet market at hindi pinapayagan ang pagbebenta rito ng dried goods sapagkat mayroon namang mga bukas na sari-sari stores,” she said.
Barzaga said makeshift markets should be open only from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Social distancing must also be observed.
