Malaking tulong! Joric Gacula grateful for Filipino-Chinese group’s rice donation
Taytay, Rizal Mayor Joric Gacula is grateful for the donation of a local Filipino-Chinese group of 800 cavans of rice to the municipality amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
In a Facebook post, Gacula shared photos of a truck containing the rice sacks donated by the Taytay Filipino-Chinese Association. They were turned over to the Taytay municipal social welfare and development office.
The mayor said he’s thankful for the generosity of the Filipino-Chinese group, though he can’t list their names one by one.
“I am so humbled that in times of crisis people look beyond the safety of their families by extending help to the people who are in dire need of help and care,” he said.
Amid the criticism of some local government’s response to the COVID-19 crisis, Gacula said: “Helping Hands are always better than Cursing Lips.”
