Help’s on the way: Gemma Lubigan: Trece Martires LGU repacking food packs
Trece Martires, Cavite Mayor Gemma Lubigan said the local government is now working double time to repack relief goods to be given to residents next week.
In a March 25 Facebook post, Lubigan explained that the relief goods received by residents this week came from barangays. She said lack of funds may be the reason why some people did not receive food packs.
“Sa susunod na linggo at sa mga darating pang Linggo ang City government na po ang bahalang maglaan ng goods para sa pamamahagi sa inyo ng house to house thru the barangay work force,” she said.
Lubigan said purchasing food items that will be given to residents is a challenge considering other LGUs are also buying in bulk amid the national emergency declared due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Nevertheless, she assured that residents will receive food packs from the government.
“Nilalagyan lang po natin ng sistema para sa pamamahagi. Hindi po tayo kasing unlad ng ibang lugar na nakikita nyo upang ikumpara nyo sa kanila. Hindi po ako puro pangako lang, ang sa akin po, gagawin ko na lang,” the mayor said.
