Batangas provincial board OKs P21M aid for barangays for COVID-19
The enhanced community quarantine in Luzon didn’t stop the provincial board of Batangas from passing a measure granting P21.5 million to barangays in the province to deal with the crisis.
Vice Governor Mark Leviste said the measure was passed in the first ever “virtual session” conducted by the provincial board on Wednesday, March 25.
He said 1,078 barangays in Batangas will receive a total of P21,560,000.00 in the coming days.
“Sisimulan natin bukas ang distribution ng mga check upang magamit at mapakinabangan agad ng ating mga kababayan sa pamamagitan ng kanikanilang Sangguniang Barangay,” Leviste said.
The vice governor said the provincial board also realigned funds for the purchase of medical equipment for hospitals and supplies for frontliners.
