Taytay records 2 COVID-19 cases, 1 dead
The municipality of Taytay, Rizal has recorded two cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), with one patient dying from the virus.
The Taytay Public Information Office said in a Facebook post Saturday, March 21, that the dead patient was immediately cremated after her death. Results of her COVID-19 test from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) indicated she was contracted the virus.
The second patient was from Barangay San Juan, whom the Taytay Public Information Office said immediately went to a hospital in Ortigas for treatment after showing symptoms.
In light of the two confirmed cases, the local government said it will strictly enforce the enhanced community lockdown in the municipality.
“Police and Barangays will watch that house so no one can go to school and go out. Let’s take the dangers of Covid19 seriously in our town,” the Taytay Public Information Office said.
