Calamba Mayor Justin Chipeco is happy to announce that his city remains free of the novel coronavirus.

In a Facebook post, Chipeco shared how he did this.

According to him, he immediately called a meeting with the city health office and other officials when news of the virus broke so that they could lay down precautionary measures.

He imposed a mandatory temperature check at the entrances of city hall and in public schools, and put out alcohol that people could use.

He also put up an isolation area where anybody with fever could be checked.

Chipeco said he was keeping watch for any updates about the virus, and asked his constituents to be on alert.

Constance vigilance is key!
