Jenny Barzaga welcomes Taal Volcano evacuees in Dasmarinas feeding program
The city of Dasmariñas, Cavite has opened its doors to residents of Batangas who have been displaced by Taal Volcano’s eruption.
Mayor Jenny Barzaga gave around 2,000 evacuees a warm welcome by having the kids join the city government’s feeding program, titled “Busog Lusog.”
In a Facebook post, Barzaga said she made sure the feeding program for children in the city continued despite the declaration of a state of calamity in Cavite to ensure they get proper nutrition.
Kids received a hearty meal consisting of rice, a nutritious viand and chocolate milk.
Even the parents were able to get their fill of the food, as Barzaga made sure there was enough to be distributed.
