Report sparks asap, says San Pedro Mayor Lourdes Cataquiz

Jan 25, 2020 @ 13:32

Sparks have been reported in San Pedro, and they’re not the good kind.

San Pedro Mayor Lourdes Cataquiz said on Facebook that after the rains, there were Meralco transformers that had some sparks or small fires, and emitted smoke.

These were followed by power interruptions.

Cataquiz said this could be dangerous and could cause bigger fires, which was why she called on her constituents to report sightings of sparks asap to the Meralco hotline or to the city’s disaster risk reduction office.

Meralco and barangay officials are also on alert, but it’s better if homeowners themselves are on the lookout to prevent tragedy.

All eyes on power posts!
