Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto revives Marcos-era project to bring farmers’ produce straight to the people

Jan 11, 2020 @ 15:49

Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto is taking a leaf from the Marcos administration to bring cheaper goods to the people of his town.

Nieto, in a Facebook post, said he and the Department of Agriculture would implement the Kadiwa project, wherein inexpensive fruits, vegetables and other products would be made available to the poor.

He would do this by bringing the producers from the provinces directly to his town to sell their goods. This would eliminate middlemen and keep prices down, he explained.

If the project proves to be well-received, he would make it a regular thing, he said.

Let’s hope Nieto will revive only the good programs from the Marcos era!

“Naalala niyo yung Kadiwa Project nung panahon ni Presidente Marcos.. ? Department of Agriculture ang kasama natin dito😊,” Nieto posted.
