Better safe than sorry, says Taytay Mayor Joric Gacula
Taytay Mayor Joric Gacula says claims about children being abducted to harvest their internal organs have yet to be verified.
Nevertheless, Gacula is choosing to err on the side of caution and has alerted the Philippine National Police and Municipal Law Enforcement Officers, as well as tanods and private volunteers, to be on the lookout for any suspicious people and vehicles.
In a Facebook post, he said there would also be stop checkpoints throughout Taytay even if no kidnapping incidents have been reported.
He also said the local council would study if it would impose a curfew on minors.
Amid all these, he implored parents to keep watch on their children and be vigilant as well.
Reports of kidnappings may or may not be fake news, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry!
