These sewing machines are instruments for a better life, says Ibaan Mayor Joy Salvame
Ibaan Mayor Joy Salvame is providing a way for some women from her town to be able to make a living and stand on their own feet.
Salvame has distributed sewing machines, which the beneficiaries would pay on installment, to be used to make cloth wipes, according to a post on the mayor’s page.
The beneficiaries would be taught how to make the cloth wipes, which would then be sold in bulk to industries that Salvame has talked to.
This would give the women extra income they could use for their families.
The money that the beneficiaries would pay for the sewing machines would be used to buy new machines that would then be distributed to other women.
This way, the livelihood project would be self-sustaining.
It might not be long before Ibaan would be filled with women entrepreneurs!
