CALAX’s first segment to open by October 30, 2019- DPWH
Travelers headed to Southern Luzon for All Saint’s Day can expect a faster trip with the opening of the Cavity-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) on October 30.
Public Works Secretary Mark Villar did a final inspection this week of the first sections of CALAX covering the Mamplasan Barrier onto Laguna Technopark Interchange, Laguna Boulevard Interchange all the way to Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Interchange.
He said the project is already 90 percent complete.
“The remaining 10% are portions of the expressway that need to be harmonized, we are fast tracking those portions,” Villar explained.
For All Saint’s Day, the entry and exit points of CALAX at Mamplasan, Binan Laguna and Sta-Rosa Tagaytay Road will be open to motorists.
Approximately 10,000 cars are expected to enter and exit through these two access points.
CALAX is designed to be a 4-lane, toll expressway connecting CAVITEX in Kawit to South Luzon Expressway [SLEX] at their Mamplasan Interchange in Binan Laguna.
