Motorists going to Tagaytay can take another route soon with the impending opening of the 10 kilometers of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAEx).

Public Works Secretary Mark Villar said the stretch of CALAEx from Mamplasan until Santa Rosa, Laguna will be opened to motorists by the end of October.

The toll fee would range between P40 and P50, though it will be waived in the first few weeks of operation.

Villar said the opening of CALAEx’s 10-kilometer stretch will ease traffic along Governor’s Drive, Aguinaldo Highway, and Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road.”

“When fully completed in 2022, travel time from Laguna and Cavite will be cut by more than half – from your usual 2 hours, to less than 1 hour,” he added.
