Wag matakot, makibaboy, says Real Mayor Bing Aquino
Real Mayor Bing Aquino isn’t going to give up her lechon kawali and crispy pata anytime soon.
To shore up public confidence in pork, Aquino said on Facebook that she is eating pork for one meal a day almost everyday.
Aquino made the statement amid fears in pork products because of the emergence of African swine flu in the country.
According to her, it was easy to know if pork is fresh or not. She also said African swine fever does not cause food borne illnesses in humans, and neither can swine flu be transmitted by food.
But the disease affects the swine industry, she added.
People can help by consuming pork products that are certified safe.
“Eating pork almost everyday, just a meal a day. It’s safe. Just like before, you’ll know what is fresh or not. African Swine Fever does not cause food-borne illness in humans; swine flu is not transmitted by food. What it affects is the swine industry,” Aquino posted.
