Sanctuary for elderly: Kit Nieto transforms neglected open lot into a park

Senior citizens in Cainta, Rizal now have a place where they can pass away the time while breathing fresh air.

Mayor Kit Nieto shared on Facebook photos of the ongoing construction of a park in Vista Verde Phase 1.

Nieto said the park used to be an untended open space until the local government decided to spruce it up.

“We took over and created a sanctuary for the elderly,” he said.

Photos showed the park’s construction in progress with trimmed grass and metal installations that the elderly can use for exercise.

Nieto said benches and solar panel-powered lights will be installed soon.

Cainta’s senior citizens will surely be thrilled to visit the park once it’s completed.
