Makakatulong sa pagpapatupad ng UHC Helen Tan backs legislation on Malasakit Centers
Quezon Rep. Helen Tan has expressed support for the creation of Malasakit Centers nationwide by the government for Filipinos needing medical assistance.
Tan led the House committee’s recent hearing on the bills filed in the 18th Congress to institutionalize Malasakit Centers.
In a Facebook post, she shared that the committee had a “long and productive discussion” on the bills.
“We hope to address the current gaps in the implementation, and fine tune the policies through the institutionalization of Malasakit program that will complement the implementation of UHC (Universal Health Care) law,” Tan said.
The Malasakit Center, an idea of Senator Bong Go, aims to be a one-stop shop for Filipinos needing medical assistance. Those who go to the centers are referred to representatives of the government agencies who could help them depending on their needs.
