New creek, less floods says San Pedro Mayor Lourdez Cataquiz

Aug 5, 2019 @ 10:56

San Pedro Mayor Lourdez Cataquiz is looking forward to less flooding this rainy season.

This is because the local government has reclaimed a creek in Elvinda so that there will be a wider waterway for rains to pass.

This is expected to ease flooding, she said in a Facebook post.

The mayor inspected the creek recently and directed environment officials to regularly clean it up so that it would not be clogged.

At the same time, she asked the people of San Pedro to help maintain the cleanliness of the creek.

Keeping trash out of the waterway would benefit everyone!
