Len Alonte gets new leadership role with election as House Deputy Majority Leader
Laguna Rep. Len Alonte will have more responsibilities in the 18th Congress with her election as one of the House of Representatives’ deputy majority leaders.
Alonte’s selection as a House leader was formalized in the plenary session Tuesday.
As deputy majority leader, the lawmaker will help in managing and coordinating the flow of each session day agenda, especially second and third reading of bills, including plenary floor debates.
“I thank the House leadership and all my colleagues for their vote of confidence. With resolve, I rise to the challenge of serving the Filipino people as deputy majority leader in the House,” Alonte said
She vowe to push for a heightened exercise of Congress’ oversight powers and hold the various executive departments and agencies accountable for failures and slow implementation of projects.
