Pusong mamon! Len Alonte tears up at supporters’ birthday surprise

Jul 28, 2019 @ 16:11

Laguna Rep. Len Alonte couldn’t help but become emotional when she was surprised by her supporters with a belated birthday celebration.

Photos shared by Alonte on Instagram showed her getting teary eyed at the surprise prepared by a group called “45 Days.”

The congresswoman said she didn’t expect the surprise since she cancelled her “People’s Day” or the weekly meeting with constituents since she wasn’t feeling well.

However, Alonte said one of her staffers asked her to come to the office to have a photo opportunity with a supporter, whom she assumed was sick.

“So, I went to the office in the afternoon and little did I know that it was a bluff and they just wanted to surprise me & celebrate my birthday,” she said.

Alonte said the supporters behind the birthday surprise had been with her since she first ran for mayor of Binan City.

“That was the toughest fight of my political life and it took me 45 days from that election day to be proclaimed. For 45 days, these people stayed and held a vigil in front of the old municipal building where the ballot boxes were being counted and kept,” she shared.

Alonte said seeing her supporters again made her relive the fight they fought together.

“I will forever be grateful for their unconditional love and confidence in me,” she said.

I cancelled my people’s day today because I was not feeling well but one of my staff called me up and asked me if I can accommodate my kababaihan leader for a photo op since I thought that she’s sick, I didn’t want to disappoint her. So, I went to the office in the afternoon and little did I know that it was a bluff and they just wanted to surprise me & celebrate my birthday. These people were my volunteers when I first ran for mayor. That was the toughest fight of my political life and it took me 45days from that election day to be proclaimed. For 45 days, these people stayed and held a vigil in front of the old municipal building where the ballot boxes were being counted and kept. Seeing all of them today brought back memories of the fight that we went through and I couldn’t help by cry.😭 I will forever be grateful for their unconditional love and confidence in me.🙏🏼 I LOVE YOU ALL, MY 45DAYS FAMILY!♥️♥️♥️ GOD BLESS YOU ALL!🌺
