Dodo Mandanas reminds gov’t employees: No work on July 23
There will be no work in government offices in Batangas on July 23 for the celebration of Mabini Day.
Governor Dodo Mandanas issued an advisory Friday (July 12) reminding government offices and officials of the holiday.
July 23 has been a non-working day in Batangas since 1984, when then-President Ferdinand Marcos issued Proclamation No. 2367.
In declaring the holiday, Malacañang said Batangueños should be given the chance to celebrate the life of Apolinario Mabini.
Also knownn as the “Sublime Paralytic,” Mabini served as the first Philippine Prime Minister under the government of President Emilio Aguinaldo.
