May nasampolan! 11 tricycle drivers in Antipolo lose franchise for overcharging
The city government of Antipolo, Rizal is cracking down on tricycle drivers who charge passengers exorbitant fares.
Local authorities stripped 12 tricycle drivers of their franchise to operate on June 19 for overcharging.
The tricycle drivers were also made to pay a penalty of P3,000.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Jun Ynares said the cancellation of the tricycle drivers’ franchise should serve as a lesson for others.
“Magsilbi nawa itong babala sa iba pa na itigil na ang DEKADANG pang aabuso o pagsasamantala sa ating mga kababayan at bisita,” he said.
Ynares encouraged residents to report incidents of overcharging at tricycles to authorities for immediate action.
