Walang walkout! Dan Fernandez sets record straight on forum for proposed Santa Rosa Esplanade

Jun 7, 2019 @ 18:47

Santa Rosa, Laguna Mayor Dan Fernandez has set the record straight on his alleged walkout during the consultation for a proposed new tourist destination in the city.

In a Facebook post dated May 29, Fernandez said the public consultation held in February was intended to inform residents that an Esplanade will be constructed along Arcillas Boulevard.

He said officials from the City Engineering Office showed blueprints and a digital presentation of how tghe area will look like once construction is finished.

Fernandez said he agreed to the public forum with the expectation to meet one Alice Lazaga, who expressed opposition to the project, but she did not show up.

Ngunit tayo ay walang nakitang Alice Lazaga sa pagpupulong,” he said.

Fernandez said Lazaga’s representatives showed up at the meeting and kept on asking repetitive questions. He said he left the venue not because he was fed up with the group, but because he had other things too do as mayor.
