Weh ‘di nga? Gilbert Remulla airs doubts on construction of LRT-1 Cavite extension. Find out why
Former Cavite Rep. Gilbert Remulla is skeptical that the construction of the LRT-1 extension to his province will finally push through despite the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) announcement.
In a tweet posted Wednesday, Remulla noted that the LRT-1 extension has been a pending project since 2000.
“This project was announced in year 2000, if i’m not mistaken. So forgive me if I’m skeptical. I’ll believe it when I see it,” he said.
Remulla posted the tweet as a comment to the DOTr’s tweet announcing the start of the LRT-1 extension’s construction on May 7.
The 11.7-kilometer extension will add eight stations to the existing LRT-1 line.
Should the construction go on as scheduled, operations of the LRT-1 extension could start by 2022.
An estimated 800,000 commuters are seen to benefit from the extended railway line.
