Antipolo Mayor Jun Ynares grateful for special holiday for his city
Antipolo City residents now have a holiday all on their own.
In a Facebook post, Antipolo Mayor Jun Ynares thanked the President for approving his request to declare April 4, 2019 a special non-working holiday to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Antipolo becoming a city.
Ynares said Antipolo becamae a city in 1998 courtesy of a bill filed by former Rep. Gilberto “Bibit” Duavit Sr.
Can we expect a grand party on that day?
“Maraming salamat po, Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa pag-apruba ng aming kahilingan na maideklara ang April 4, 2019 bilang isang special non-working day upang gunitain ang 21 taon ng pagiging lungsod ng Antipolo.
Trivia: Ang bayan ng Antipolo ay naging isang lungsod noong February 13, 1998 sa bisa ng Republic Act 8508 na nagsimula sa isang panukalang batas na naipasa ni former Congressman Gilberto “Bibit” Duavit, Sr.,” Ynares posted.
