Robredo campaigns for Otso Diretso in Laguna
Vice President Leni Robredo went around Laguna on Wednesday to campaign for senatorial candidates running under the “Otso Diretso” slate.
Robredo visited the towns of Nagcarlan, San Pablo, Calamba and San Pedro for multi-sectoral dialogues that also aimed to raise awareness about the opposition’s senatorial bets.
In an interview in Nagcarlan, Robredo said she wants to give the Otso Diretso candidates an chance to be known in her out of town trips.
The Otso Diretso senatorial slate is composed of Senator Bam Aquino, Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano, former senator Mar Roxas, former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay, former Quezon Rep. Erin Tanada, former Marawi civic leader Samira Gutoc, and lawyers Chel Diokno and Romy Macalintal.
Robredo clarified that contrary to rumors, the Otso Diretso slate is not in disarray although its members often campaign separately.
Apart from Roxas and Aquino, who at one point served in the Senate, she said other members of the slate need to work double time to make themselves known to voters.
So talagang may, parang, may extra na… parang may extra schedule iyong anim, kasi iyon iyong kailangang mag-double-time magpakilala,” she said.
