Bong Revilla wants Pinoy movie tickets sold cheap: Para may manood ng sine!
Former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. wants prices of tickets for Filipino movies priced lower to attract more viewers.
In a recent interview with entertainment reporters, Revilla expressed openness to talk with movie producers and theater owners to find ways of bringing down movie ticket prices.
He said the cost of watching movies, particularly those made by local movie houses, has become expensive for ordinary Filipinos.
“We have to make moves to attract the viewers to come back to the theaters. Sa mahal ng tickets ngayon, kung isang family kayong manonood, libu-libo na agad ang gagastusin nyo, plus food and transportation pa. Hindi na talaga maa-afford ng masa ang manood ng sine,” Revilla said.
While the former senator acknowledged that theater owners and movie producers will not easily agree to have smaller profits, he said slashing ticket prices will likely encourage more Filipinos to watch local films.
“It really has to be a concerted effort para mabuhay uli ang local film industry,” he said.
