Para ‘di halatang palpak! DOTr launches free shuttle service to and from PITX
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced a free shuttle service for commuters going to and from the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) to ease their burden of waiting for public utility vehicles (PUVs).
Starting February 14, the DOTr said two buses from the Junior Chamber International Senate Philippines (JCISP) will ply the PITX-Lawton (Liwasang Bonifacio) route while another unit will traverse the PITX-Baclaran lane.
The JCISP shuttle service will operate from Monday to Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Countless commuters coming from Southern Luzon have complained about the difficulty they have experienced in traveling since the PITX started operations last year since PUVs from the provinces had to stop at the terminal.
In an effort to help commuters, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have deployed three buses so commuters from the Mall of Asia in Pasay City can go to PITX for free.
