Feeling inmate pa rin! Bong Revilla shares adjustment struggles as free man
Former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. may be over the moon that he’s now out of prison, but he’s still adjusting to living as a free man.
In a recent interview with entertainment writers, Revilla said being at home in Cavite takes some time to get used to because he lived alone in a cramped cell in Camp Crame for four years.
“In Crame, I slept alone and I kind of gotten used to that. It took a while before I got used to going to sleep and waking up with Lani beside me,” he said.
Revilla’s wife, Bacoor City mayor Lani Mercado, said their entire family is adjusting to the former senator.
“In Crame, the bathroom was only a few steps away. At home, initially he found our bathroom too far and would say, ‘Ilapit mo ang banyo, ang layo, eh!’ In Crame, he and Jinggoy didn’t have aircon at their rooms, only electric fan. During his first few days at home, Bong would complain, ‘Giniginaw ako,’ and ask me to turn the temperature warmer,” she explained.
Revilla got out of detention in December last year after the Sandiganbayan junked the plunder charges against him in connection to the pork barrel scam.
