Marvey Mariño: 3rd Calumpang Bridge to open in January
Batangas 5th District Representative Marvey Mariño on December 11 said the third Calumbang Bridge in Batangas City will finally open in January 2019.
The Batangas politiko made the statement during the installation of the last precast segment of the country’s first segmental box girder bridge.
Mariño said the bridge symbolizes Batangas City’s unity.
The third Calumpang Bridge, which cost P338 million, is considered a dream project of Mayor Beverley Dimacuha’s father, the late mayor Eduardo Dimacuha.
The bridge is expected to connect motorists passing through the heart of Batangas City to the eastern side which houses various industrial sites.
“This bridge is a symbol of our unity, we don’t look for enemies, we build bridges, we build relationships,” Mariño said.
“The city will enjoy a lot of investments. A lot of investors are already inquiring,” he added.
