Erin Tañada slams Bong Revilla for refusing to return P124M in pork barrel funds
Senatorial candidate Erin Tañada said former senator Bong Revilla should return P124 million of his pork barrel or Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) as ordered by the Sandiganbayan.
The Quezon politiko said he could not believe the Sandiganbayan’s decision to acquit Revilla despite “damning” evidence from the Anti-Money Laundering Council.
Revilla’s lawyers said the will not return the P124 million based on the Sandiganbayan’s ruling.
“It is with great disbelief that the Sandiganbayan acquitted Bong Revilla despite demanding that he return the P124 million in his bank accounts,” Tañada said.
“It is with greater suspicion that he refuses to return what has proven to be stolen funds. That proves his intent to gain from his pork barrel funds. He is guilty,” he added.
