Mayor Nieto announces Cainta-Cardinal Santos partnership for PET scans

Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto on November 21 said the municipal government has partnered with the Cardinal Santos Medical Center to help the town’s cancer patients.

The Rizal politiko said the hospitals Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography Scan Facility “will become available to our cancer patients.”

Nieto explained that the cancer treatment equipment will help detect cancer among patients.

“PET scans are used to help the doctor detect cancer its extent, location and monitor treatment,” he said.

“It is a single diagnosis that can provide information which before, would have required several medical studies and possibly, surgery,” Nieto added.
