Erin Tañada: Senate lacking in ‘principled politics’

Nov 7, 2018 @ 15:44

Former Quezon 4th District Representative Erin Tañada said the Senate is lacking in “principled politics.”

The Quezon politiko is running for senator in the 2019 elections.

“Well I think there’s always a space for principled politics, which is lacking at this point in time in the Senate,” Tañada said.

“There’s always space for love of country, although people can have their own definitions on how to love their country,” he added.

Tañada said he hopes to bring the “Tañada brand” of public service in the Senate.

Tañada’s grandfather, the late senator Lorenzo Tañada, was a key opposition figure during the Marcos regime.

His father, Wigberto Tañada, was also a former senator.

“I believe the Tañada brand is a brand that is appealable across generations,” Tañada said.
