Ralph Recto hopes SSS will be open to ideas to ensure more efficient system
Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto is hopeful that the Social Security System management can use some of the ideas discussed during their meetings to ensure a more efficient pension fund system.
The Batangas politiko made the remark right before the bicameral conference committee approved the bill repealing Republic Act 8282 or the Social Security Act of 1997 and expanding the powers of the Social Security Commission on October 9.
Recto said he had numerous meetings with SSS President and CEO Emmanuel Dooc prior to the bicameral conference committee’s approval of the proposed measure.
He said they discussed various issues to improve the bill.
“There were many other issues and problems discussed in the course of improving this bill,” Recto said.
“We hope that the SSS management will find useful the ideas that came up during those discussions and will result in a better pension fund system that is more efficient, provide better benefits and fairer to all contributing members,” he added.
