Ralph Recto: Increase in MVUC rates has no benefits
Senate President Pro-Tempore Ralph Recto questioned the plan to increase the Motor Vehicle User’s Charge (MVUC) rates.
The Batangas politiko said the proposal does not seem to have any benefit for motorists.
Public Works Secretary Mark Villar earlier said spending continues to be put on hold.
“Kung walang plow back sa mga motorista, ano ang biyaya nila dito?” Recto asked.
“Nasaan ang dividends in terms of better roads, safe streets, and better lighted highways? Dirty, dilapidated, dark pa rin ang maraming kalsada?” he added.
