Erin Tañada: De Castro’s short stay as CJ will not compare with Sereno’s 6 years

Sep 4, 2018 @ 18:13

Former Quezon 4th District Representative Erin Tañada on August 28 said newly appointed Chief Justice Teresita de Castro’s short stay in office will not compare with ousted chief justice Maria Lourdes Sereno’s six years of service.

The Quezon politiko said Sereno has made a mark in her six years as Chief Justice.

“Forty-two days of Justice de Castro pales in comparison to the 6 years of Maria Lourdes Sereno served in the Supreme Court as Chief Justice,” Tañada said.

He also said Sereno’s accomplishments as Chief Justice is “unrivalled.”

“CJ Sereno’s name will never be erased in the Decisions she penned or participated in as Chief Justice. The reforms she implemented in office will remain unrivalled,” Sereno said.
