Batangas City Mayor Beverley Dimacuha and Representative Marvey Mariño on August 16 led the distribution of food assistance to around 1,000 fishermen affected by the recent typhoons and southwest monsoon.

The fishermen were not able to go to the sea for one week because of the bad weather.

“Ito po ay ayuda namin sa inyo, dahil alam po namin na halos ay isang linggo na kayong hindi nakaka palaot dahil sa malakas na alon bunsod nitong habagat, sana po kahit paano ay makatulong ito sa inyo,” Dimacuha said.

Aside from the food packs, the two Batangas politikos distributed disaster kits to several barangays.

The beneficiaries are fishermen from Santa Clara, Wawa, Malitam, Cuta, and Santa Rita Aplaya.
