Danilo Suarez urges Congress consider suspension of TRAIN law

Jun 13, 2018 @ 15:04

Quezon 3rd District Representative Danilo Suarez called on Congress to consider suspending or amending the tax reform or TRAIN law.

The Quezon politiko made the remark in his Manila Standard column amid the rising prices of goods in the market.

Suarez said higher inflation must be addressed immediately.

“To suspend or amend the TRAIN Law is a decision left by the President to the Congress. To me, this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed urgently,” he said.

“As the Minority Leader of the House, I would be firm with my revenue-neutral stand, and I would encourage my colleagues to come up with measures that would manage the adverse effects of the TRAIN Law. We will continue to perform our oversight function to monitor the effects of TRAIN to ensure that it is for the benefit of our country,” Suarez added.
