Gov Remulla signs MOA strengthening Cavite’s earthquake response
Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla on May 28 signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) and Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) to boost the province’s earthquake preparedness.
The MOA aims to reduce the impacnt of the “Big One.”
The “Big One” could result from an earthquake stemming from the fault line that traverses General Mariano Alvarez, Carmona, and Silang.
Under the MOA, the project will include three stages: contingency plan development, enhancing coordination, and advocacy linkages to other national contingency plans.
ADRA will lead Stage 1, HLA-PAC will lead Stage 2, while the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) will lead Stage 3.
