Despite the years and the political storms, the Revillas have remained allies of former President and now Pampanga representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado joined Arroyo for an intimate gathering for the latter’s birthday recently.
Mercado’s husband Bong Revilla Jr., who is detained on plunder charges, used to be the President of Lakas-Kampi-CMD, which Arroyo used to head.
The political party became moribund in 2010 when Benigno Aquino III won the presidency and its members jumped ship.
But Arroyo has since re-emerged as a player to contend with in politics given her closeness to President Duterte.
On Facebook, Mercado greeted Arroyo on her birthday and gave her the family’s best wishes.
She has shown that through thick and thin, they remain Arroyo supporters!
“Maligayang kaarawan sa ating former president and now Pampanga representative Gloria Macapagal Arroyo! Nakasama po natin siya sa isang munting salo-salo noong isang gabi para sa kanyang kaarawan. Best wishes po from our family!” she posted.
