Bong Revilla trial postponed to March 20

Mar 7, 2018 @ 20:41

Former senator Bong Revilla’s Sandiganbayan trial is again postponed until March 20.

In his motion to cancel hearings before the Sandiganbayan, Revilla cited the Supreme Court en banc meeting of the High Court’s justices where they asked Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno to take a leave of absence.

Revilla’s lawyer Estelito Mendoza argued that the SC is in a ‘state of paralysis.’ thereby bumping off their petition from the en banc’s agenda.

Mendoza said the SC en banc was supposed to tackle Revilla’s petition on February 27.

How Mendoza knew this is unclear because the SC en banc’s agenda is supposed to be confidential.

“In my 60 years of experience as a lawyer, this is the first time that the court is in a state of paralysis, everybody is preoccupied with the Chief Justice. That is beyond our control,” Mendoza said.
