Bakasyon is coming! Binan Rep. Len Alonte thanks Senate colleagues for backing her bill to make the anniversary of Binan’s declaration a holiday

Feb 28, 2018 @ 16:00

The House of Representatives and the Senate don’t always see eye to eye, but when it comes to declaring a city holiday, there seems to be no friction between the two chambers.

Binan Rep. Len Alonte is elated over the Senate’s support for her bill declaring February 3 of every year a special non-working holiday in her city to mark Binan Liberation Day,

The date is significant to the city’s residents, which is why its leaders want it to be a non-working day to give them time to fully appreciate its meaning.

Alonte expressed her gratitude to Senators Sonny Angara and Joel Villanueva for their support for the measure which, hopefully, would be a law by next year.

Keep your fingers crossed, Binan!

“Thank you so much Chair Senator Sonny Angara for hearing and approving in principle at the committee level, HB2747 – an act declaring February 3 of every year as a special non-working holiday in the City of Biñan to be known as Biñan Liberation Day. Special thanks also to Senator Joel Villanueva for supporting this bill. Mabuhay po kayo!?? Mabuhay ang Biñan!♥️ #022718,” Alonte posted on Instagram.
