Mayor Maliksi launches Cognitive Behavioral Therapy rehab program for drug surrenderers

Feb 11, 2018 @ 13:46

Imus City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi on February 9 led the inauguration of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) rehabilitation program.

The CBT program was initially tested in October 2017 with 544 drug surrenderers.

The program uses psychotherapy to change “drug surrenderers’ attitudes and behavior, enabling them to become productive members of the society.”

The Cavite politiko said the CBT program helps drug surrenderers modify their way of thinking about themselves and the world.

“The success rate of adopting the CBT is phenomenal to surrenderers as they believe there is hope and they’re back to their normal lives,” Maliksi said.
