Tan’s health committee to tackle Philippine ENT Center proposal
Quezon City 4th District Representative Angelina Tan, in her capacity as House committee on health chairperson, said the panel will be discussing Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez’s proposed measure establishing the Philippine ENT (ear, nose, throat, head and neck) Center.
The House Speaker said there has been diseases related to the ear, nose, throat, head and neck have been prevalent the past years.
But Alvarez lamented that these ailments have not been given priority.
“Respiratory tract infections which include colds, sinusitis, nasopharyngitis, and laryngitis are among the leading causes of morbidity in the country,” Alvarez said.
House Bill No. 6720 mandates that the number of beds in the proposed PEC allocated for indigents will not be less than 40% of the total number of hospital beds.
