Traffic alert: DPWH to close Gen. Trias bridge for road widening

Dec 27, 2017 @ 20:00

The city’s Malabon Bridge will be closed to all types of vehicles from 11 p.m. on Dec. 29 to 12 noon on Dec. 30 to give way to the Department of Public Works and Highway’s (DPWH) road widening projects.

The 70-meter bridge, which spans along the Governor’s Drive, is one of the city’s major throughfares connecting the cities of Trece Martires, Dasmariǹas and several Cavite towns.

According to the DPWH engineering district here, the scheduled road works are conducted in time for the Rizal Day (Dec. 30) non- working holiday to lessen the impact to motorists.

Due to the bridge and road’s temporary closure, motorists are advised to take alternate routes and avoid the temporary inconvenience.

Local officials have also expressed their apologies for the inconvenience to the riding public and motorists on the bridge closure to pave the way for a wider thoroughfare especially since the city is home to the Gateway Industrial Park and commercial hub. (PNA)
