Dasmarinas Mayor makes cash, not blood, flow

Nov 2, 2017 @ 13:06

For his city’s early halloween party, Dasmarinas Mayor Pidi Barzaga became a bampira, but with a twist.

Instead of sucking his constituents’ blood, the politiko gave out cash to city employees who came in the best costumes representing monsters from Philippine folklore.

The prizes ranged from P5,000 to P2,000, and brought a smile to the city’s scary-looking employees.

Barzaga shared photos from the event on Facebook.

“To provide the city employees with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and to provide a break from their daily routine at work, the City Government initiated a Halloween Costume Competition for City Employees on October 27, 2017 in which they were required to wear Halloween costumes based on Philippine folklore creatures such as bampira, manananggal, kamatayan, white lady, and kapre to name a few. Even the city officials such as Mayor Pidi Barzaga, Vice Mayor Rex Mangubat and the Sangguniang Panlungsod Members made the effort to wear artistic Halloween costumes,” he posted.
