Los Banos councilor recalls her volleybelle days, wishes great things for future stars
Los Banos councilor Josephine Sumangil-Evangelista couldn’t help but be senti over the recent opening of the Mayor Caesar Perez Inter-Highschool Volleyball League.
Evangelista, who became part of the UP Los Banos volleyball varsity team when she was in third year high school, noted that such opportunities weren’t available when she was a young aspiring player of the sport.
On Facebook, she shared that she was glad these kinds of interactions are available to private and public school students.
Who knows, these may just produce the next volleybelle superstar!
“Today, the Mayor Caesar Perez Inter-Highschool Volleyball League 2017 formally opened participated by 13 public and private schools in Los Banos. Masaya ako kasi noon panahon namin ay wala kaming ganito! I joined the UPLB Volleyball Varsity team since I was in 3rd year HS kaya hindi ako nahirapan mainspire ang mga bata based from my experience!
To Mayor Caesar Perez, maraming salamat po at magkakaron ng interaction ang mga public and private schools natin! Sana makaproduce tayo ng mga atheleta na maaring makasali sa Philippine Team pagdating ng panahon!
To the schools and its coordinators and coaches, Maraming salamat din sa pagparticipate!
Sa Municipal Sports Office, sana ay maging maayos ang ating palaro at maraming salamat sa inyo!
To the players, goodluck sa inyo! May you inspire other students to be active in sports and take part in our sports programs.
Mabuhay ang Volleyball sa bayan ng Los Banos!” she posted.
