Calabarzon learns from Eastern Visayas in disaster risk reduction

Oct 9, 2017 @ 18:35

The Calabarzon Regional Land Use Committee has recently organized a “learning visit” in Eastern Visayas to learn from the latter’s experience during typhoon Yolanda.

The learning visit was held on October 3-6 at the Office of Civil Defense-Eastern Visayas.

“The Calabarzon Regional Land Use Committee organized a learning visit in the provinces of Eastern Visayas Region on October 3-6 as part of its ongoing effort in mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) to Sub National Plans,” the Department of interior and Local Government-Region IV-A said.

The said visit sought to gather best practices and learn from experiences of the Region 8 in handling disaster management.

“Said learning visit aimed to gather experiences from the Typhoon Yolanda stricken provinces that could support the capability of the regional committee in mainstreaming DRR and CCA,” the DILG-IV-A said.
