Hugot pa more! Alonte-Naguiat tells art students to be inspired by hardships

Biñan City Representative Len Alonte-Naguiat on June 10 told Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) students to use their hugot as inspiration to create art.
The Laguna politiko said this during the 40th anniversary of the PHSA.
“Sabi nga ng mga kabataan ngayon, may hugot. Kanta man yan o linya sa pelikula, o kahit dance step, iba ang lalim pag may pinaghuhugutan. Let your passion for the arts help you find your voice, find your purpose. Let your art reflect your life. Di ba mas masaya kung may art sa buhay natin?” Alonte-Naguiat said.
Alonte-Naguiat also vowed to strengthen arts education in the country.
“Do not be discouraged when hard times come. It’s inevitable. Ang mga mahihirap na sitwasyon sa buhay ang nagtutulak sa atin upang lalong pagbutihin ang ating mga ginagawa. Marami sa mga maestro ng sining ang gumamit ng kanilang mga kasawian sa buhay upang mabuo ang kanilang obra maestra,” she said.
